I’m training for the 2021 Sydney2CAMberra to support Red Nose (formerly SIDS and Kids), an organization that’s been extraordinarily helpful to my family and me since the sudden death of my daughter, Floriane, in 2015.
Floriane died because she had a heart defect we knew nothing about. She was not visibly sick, and literally dropped dead one evening while playing with me. She was nine years old.
As you might imagine, having your beloved child die suddenly and unexpectedly causes tons of tumult — internal to the individuals in the family, among members of the family, and in the communities to which the family belongs. It’s very hard to describe. Red Nose, though, specializes in this kind of horrible situation, and has helped my family and me with advice and counseling, and by introducing us to other people with similar stories. It’s a good organization, operated by truly compassionate and professionally skilled people. I’m happy to be able to support them this way and I hope you’ll help by sponsoring me on the ride.
Thanks for reading my story, and thanks for helping Red Nose by sponsoring me if you can.
