My wife Sophie and I have been supporting the Sydney2CAMberra ride for the last 10 years, and 2 of those years I have had the privledge (and felt the pain!) to complete the 300 odd kilometre journey with our nephew Cameron’s name across my back.

This will be my third time riding, however this year I will have two names on my back. Three months after the 2017 Sydney2CAMberra ride, we welcomed our little boy, Henry, silently and peacefully, into the world. This will be our first year back at Sydney2CAMberra since we lost Henry, and my first year riding with Henry’s name, as well as Cameron’s, across my jersey.

We never got to see Henry open his eyes, or cry, or watch him grow up with his little sister, Emilia. On the day he was born, we were one of six Australian families who left the hospital with empty arms and broken hearts – and six more families have experienced this every day since Henry was born.

I am participating to raise much needed funds for our charities, The Stillbirth Foundation, Red Nose and Bears of Hope and doing this in memory of my son, Henry, who we miss every single day.
