Riding Sydney 2 CAMberra

Our 2021 Sydney2CAMberra ride will follow a similar route to previous years. The ride to Canberra is approximately 300kms. 

A King of the Mountain competition will be included again in the 2021 event over 2 days for those looking for an extra challenge. This includes Mt Gibraltar in Bowral on Day 1 and the Day 2 will take place on a secret climb that will be announced on the morning of day 2.

The ride is a 2 day event and approx. 300km, 190km on day one and 135km on day two. Riders of all abilities are welcome, as we cater to all levels, but we do require that you have a road bike or triathlon bike (no mountain bikes are allowed) and you must also attend at least one training ride so we can gauge your level of fitness and riding ability to ensure you are placed in the most relevant pack throughout the event.

We are always looking for more volunteers to support our wonderful events and be a part of the S2C family. Select the volunteer package below and complete your details by following the prompts. It’s important note that it will be a prerequisite this year for all volunteers to be available for the whole weekend. We are happy and appreciative to have people to come along and help for portions of the weekend however they can not be subsidised under the volunteer package.

We absolutely recommend bringing your family along for this event, it’s not only a great ride, but a great family event with plenty of stops along the way and a great way to experience the S2C event with your loved ones. You will need to purchase additional accommodation and function tickets as well as notify us of who you are brining with you when checking out.

As this ride is restricted to a certain amount of riders, we only sell the full package option, so we do recommend you attend the full event. Should you only be able to attend one day this can generally be accommodated, but we still have the same fundraising requirements as we do with all riders, which is a minimum of $1,000.

It’s important to note that it will be a prerequisite this year for all volunteers to be available for the whole weekend. We are happy and very appreciative to have people come along and help for portions of the weekend but they can not be subsidised under the volunteer package (ie. all meals, accomodation and function ticket).

If you need to withdraw from the event, we require a minimum of two months notice from the start of the event, so we can try to accommodate other riders. You may be refunded the money paid to date less any costs incurred to date.

As a matter of safety, we provide two vehicles per cycling pack (front and rear) with flashing lights and signs, along with a minimum of two bike captains per pack who have radio communications with the drivers and medical crew who support the ride. We also provide a mobile bike mechanic for the duration of the event.

We are again in uncertain times and have been monitoring the current situation in New South Wales and listening to the health experts. With most of our registered riders and volunteers currently in lockdown, it’s in the best interest of our community to change the format of our 2021 event again this year.

We understand and empathise that many of you will be disappointed with this news, however, probably not surprised. As we are sure you can agree the safety and wellbeing of our Sydney 2 CAMberra family should always be our priority and like most things in the world at this time we have found the need to evolve into the virtual world.

Over the past 10 years we are proud to have raised close to $1.6 Million for our valued charities. We hope everyone will continue to get behind their favourite rider and volunteers for this Virtual Event this year and donate however big or small on our website.

As always, we encourage everyone to continue to be safe and take care of one another as we all navigate these difficult times.
